Tchah Sup Kim (1942-2022) received his BFA from Seoul National University (1963) and his MFA at the Pratt Institute, New York (1977). Working primarily in paint and mixed-media, his work explores principles of the cosmos through nature and its phenomena. By doing so, he raises questions regarding the universal truth that human beings have developed in and out of history. Kim was granted the John D. Rockefeller 3rd Fund Fellowship in 1974-76 and has work in the collections of many renown institutions including the Museum of Modern Art (NY), the Metropolitan Museum of Art (NY) and the National Museum of Contemporary art (Gwachun, Korea).
